She Walks in Beauty

High heels, nylons, up dos and the like... as women we do these things, we then teach our daughters so they too might pass on the 'secrets' to feminine beauty one day.
Yes, we do know that beauty comes from within but...
Siri Mitchell has written an amazing new novel, She Walks in Beauty. The setting is New York Cities golden age of debutant balls filled with beautiful gowns and ballroom dancing. We are brought into the world of a privileged young lady who loves to learn and study, but is forced to immerse herself into the social world which is filled with glitz and glamour. Miss Clara Carter is thrown into a situation that is foreign and uncomfortable and she has to choose between riches, family status and love. In a world of corsets and gowns, could she possible find someone to love her 'just as I am'.
I have had the opportunity to review this book as part of the Bethany House book review program. I was given a complimentary copy for purpose of review. I would highly recommend this book and would specifically recommend this book to any teenage girl. I loved how Ms. Mitchell has woven the topic of God`s grace and love though this book. It is an amazing story for anyone who is struggling with their self image and gives an acute reminder of the love God has for us, just as we are. I would give this book 5 stars....very well written.
