Top 5.....You Know Your a Canadian Kid If.....

5) When asked to sing the National Anthem you hum the theme song to Hockey Night in Canada

4) When you ask your parents if they have any loonies...they know you are not talking about relatives!

3) You know what a Double, Double is!

2) You know the standard fare after playing outside for hours is Hot Chocolate and Peanut Butter Toast.

And the #1 reason you know you are a Canadian Kid...is if you have ever ordered pizza while ice fishing.....and they delivered!

Last week we had the opportunity to travel Up North. On the last day of our trip, one of my uncles brought us out on the lake, the very lake my dad grew up on. Now, we have been on this lake swimming, on sea-doos and boating but this time we went by truck. I know.....I could not believe it. We were driving along the lake and he was pointing out ice house by ice house, mentioning which family member graced this street..yes, they even put out street signs(after all they need to know where to deliver the pizza!) It becomes a hang out, the place to be. You bring your family out, kids skate and slid on the snow hills all day, camp fires at night, roasting hot dogs and marshmallows. As you know from my last post, I had visions of a skating party. I must have inherited this love for outdoor winter gatherings, okay, lets be honest, its more like...I must have inherited this love for ....gatherings... from my family. While we were gone, we had many times together.

Lots of laughter, lots of tears, and lots of family.
